Welcome to SpeedCAD III, an online CAD competition hosted by the Robolytics community. This event is all about designing a robot for the VEX V5 Override game in a short amount of time. The competition takes place this Saturday, and everything happens live, so you’ll need to think fast and work smart.
What makes this event different is that you don’t have much time. You can start with a pre-made drivetrain, but everything else has to be designed during the competition. This makes it fair for everyone and pushes teams to come up with ideas quickly. You’ll work in teams of two to build a robot that looks good and would work well in the game.
Requirements
You need to design a full VEX V5 robot for the Override game using any CAD software you want. Teams must have exactly two people. You are allowed to bring a pre-made drivetrain, but every other part of the robot must be made during the competition.
Your design must follow the VEX V5 Override game manual. When you submit, include your full CAD model in a Google Drive folder, along with some images or screenshots of your robot, and a short explanation of how your robot works and what it is meant to do in the game.
